Contractors are under immense pressure to reduce project costs to make profit and keep bids as low as possible.  This is tackled in two ways:

  1. Reduce Material Costs
  2. Reduce Time On Site

Traditionally contractors used to favour reducing material costs but most now understand that less time on site is the most efficient way of maximising profits.  The crucial stage for any building is getting it weatherproof.  As soon as this happens the internal fit-out can start and making this happen as quickly as possible can have a real impact on a project's profitability.

Vitral is unique as a roofglazing system in that way it is delivered to site and installed, there is no on site fabrication!

Vitral's bespoke roofglazing systems are:

  • panel based
  • manufactured in our factory
  • delivered to site on pallets
  • all glazing is fully protected by the frames
  • is the quickest roof glazing system to install

Time and time again, on site Vitral has been proven to be the quickest system to install, this means the scaffolding can be taken down earlier, reducing costs, and the internal fit out can start as early as possible.  Your client will get the best performing rooflight available and as a contractor you will benefit from reduced costs.

It pays to look at the implications of what roofglazing system you have selected.  The wrong system will have much deeper impact that outweigh their low costs.  Soime contractors can incurr costs at a later date when using alternative systems due to:

  • Poor performance - does it pass Part L, will it pass the building's airtightness test?
  • Leaks - repairs will be required to the roofglazing system and any internal damage
  • Reputation - CABE and other bodies review buldings and their assesment is taken into consideration by clients for future projects, reflecting on the architect and contractor.

Avoid these and select Vitral!
