Sound dampening

Insulating glass units become sound dampening when the different glass layers oscillate at different frequencies. With only a few exceptions Vitral use single layer glass outside and laminated safety glass inside – i.e. glass with different frequencies.

The choice of glass in combination with frame profiles, which also has a sound dampening effect, gives total roof glazing solutions with good sound dampening properties.
In very noisy surroundings the sound dampening effect can be further improved by optimizing individual glass thicknesses.
A large part of Vitral’s products are sound tested and the sound dampening properties are documented.
